Background-Biography

In the spring of 1970, I stepped onto the path of yoga. We may not always be aware of how or why we are drawn to this path. We may hear a very faint whisper somewhere in our heart calling to us. That summer, on the very first day I arrived in San Francisco, I was led to a class in Kundalini yoga. I attended classes regularly. Eventually I attended classes at the 3HO Kundalini yoga ashram in San Rafael, California. After awhile, events in my life (karma) led me to live at the ashram.

The ashram, under the direction of Yogi Bhajan was a teacher training center. I lived the yogic lifestyle, arising at 3:30 am for meditation, group chanting from 4 to 6 am, followed by a morning yoga class, then karma yoga, with an evening class every night.Periodically, I attended Kundalini yoga intensives with Yogi Bhajan. I began teaching classes in the Bay area in 1971.

In 1972 I returned to my home in suburban New York where I have been teaching since.I ,have taught yoga at Sarah Lawrence College, New York University and at Pace University since 1972.

I have taught at various dance, martial arts and finess facilities and have conducted workshops for the Yoga Teachers Association in Westchester and the new age center in Rockland. I am committed to the practice and teaching of yoga that is as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.
